About Mas Doix Poboleda Vi de Vila

Just as no two vineyards are identical, neither are any two villages, right? With their flaws and virtues, each of these towns and hamlets is unique and unrepeatable. And this has been clear from the outset at Mas Doix. That’s why they dared to create Mas Doix Poboleda Vi de Vila. 
 
Under the Vi de Vila classification, Mas Doix asserts itself to the world, acknowledging the exclusivity of its slate and mineral-rich soils, abundant in licorella. Specifically, this title was approved by the Regulatory Council of the D.O.Q. Priorat in 2009 precisely for this purpose: to recognize the peculiarities and identity of each village within this denomination. In this way, the uniqueness of the Mas Doix vineyards is acknowledged, planted on the slopes and terraces of La Salamanca and Barranc de la Morera, in the Tarragona municipality of Poboleda. This place, located in the cooler area of Priorat, is influenced by a Mediterranean climate with oceanic nuances, characterized by dry and hot summers and a significant day-night temperature variation. This microclimate, which makes it unique and special, ensures a much slower maturation, resulting in late harvests that reflect the effort the vineyard has put in throughout the year. Despite all odds, the vines here produce the best, offering an exceptional Garnacha. 
 
Mas Doix Poboleda Vi de Vila is harvested by hand, selecting the best grapes one by one for the next phase of winemaking. This will take place in stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs, where Mas Doix Poboleda Vi de Vila will ferment with neutral yeasts. Finally, Mas Doix Poboleda Vi de Vila will age in these same tanks for about six months, preserving its freshness.
